Why Data Science
at NCSSM?

Data on all aspects of our lives and economy is being collected more comprehensively every day. The rapidly-expanding field of data science allows us to use data to address society’s challenges both great and small. The demand for data-savvy professionals has never been greater, yet we lack a pipeline of young people who understand the art of using big data to make the best decisions. North Carolina needs to prepare the next generation of local, state, and global leaders who are data-literate no matter their field.

Building on its legacy of educating academically talented students, the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics is addressing the challenge of preparing high-school students for data-intensive careers.

Interested in Partnering?

NCSSM's Program in Data Science will reach over 1400 students enrolled at the Durham and Morganton campuses and our Online Program, plus additional students across the State of North Carolina through our Extended Learning initiatives. We need help from our partners and supporters in industry and academia!

If you're interested in supporting the NCSSM Program in Data Science with your time and expertise, or are interested in supporting our efforts financially, please reach out to:
